The Inflatable Retrievable Bridge Plug (IRBP) is a temporary wellbore isolation device that combines high-expansion inflatable elements with a robust retrievable structure. Unlike permanent bridge plugs, it can be easily deployed, set, and retrieved intact after completing its mission, providing unparalleled flexibility for well operations. Suitable for use in cased holes and open holes, our IRBP is compatible with multiple deployment methods, including electric line (e-line), slickline, and coiled tubing (CT), adapting to diverse well conditions and operational requirements.

Product Features

 

1.High-Expansion Inflatable Element : Equipped with high-performance elastomeric inflatable elements, our IRBP can achieve up to 3:1 expansion ratio, allowing a single tool to fit multiple casing inner diameters (IDs) and seal effectively in irregular wellbore conditions (such as scaled casings, perforations, or oval pipes) where traditional mechanical plugs fail. The long inflatable elements (available in 103-in. and 120-in. options) provide a larger sealing area and stronger anchoring force, ensuring bi-directional pressure integrity.

2.Flexible Retrievable Design : Designed for easy retrieval without milling or drilling, the IRBP features a straight-pull shear release mechanism (for coiled tubing deployment) or standard fishing neck (for slickline/e-line retrieval), enabling quick and safe recovery after use. This retrievable design eliminates the need to pull completion strings, significantly reducing recompletion costs and operational time.

3.Multi-Method Deployment : Compatible with electric line (e-line), slickline, and coiled tubing (CT) deployment, our IRBP adapts to different well configurations and operational constraints. It can be deployed as part of long bottomhole assemblies (BHAs) using e-line and automated setting software (such as Autobot) to reduce human error and setting failure risks.

4.Pressure-Balanced Equalization : Integrated with an internal bypass system and balanced unloader, the IRBP ensures safe and easy pressure equalization inside and outside the tool string during retrieval, preventing equalization problems and misruns. The choke can be sheared out during retrieval to further facilitate pressure balance across the plug.

5.Cost-Effective & Efficient : Single-trip setting and release enable more efficient operations, reducing overall downtime and labor costs. The modular design allows for quick replacement of inflatable elements based on application needs, minimizing field inventory and logistics costs. In remote well locations, it eliminates the high costs of transporting tools to pull completion strings, as demonstrated in successful projects in Indonesia.

6.Durable & Reliable Construction : Built with high-strength alloy chassis and wear-resistant elastomeric materials, the IRBP withstands extreme downhole conditions, including high temperatures, high pressure, and corrosive drilling fluids. The element shear-pinned bottom sub prevents element "wadding up" during deployment, ensuring tool integrity and long service life.
