Weatherford International plc has been hired for three years and $147 million by Petrobras to offer Tubular Running Services (TRS) to Petrobras' Brazilian offshore drilling operations.
The contract, which was secured by open tender for the second time, once again demonstrates Petrobras' continued application of Weatherford's portfolio of TRS technologies to ensure increased safety, efficiency, and reliability of well construction.
As per the deal, Weatherford will deploy certain proprietary technologies like Vero™, automatic make-up and connection test system; Multi Slip System, where mixed casing strings are run without equipment switchover; Flush Joint Elevator, eliminating lift plugs in tubular handling; and StringGuard™, dropped string protection technology that further enhances operational safety.
