STRYDE And S3 Partner To Advance Onshore CO₂ Storage in Denmark With 42,000 Seismic Nodes For CarbonCuts Project

Leave a message

STRYDE, a leading provider of nodal seismic acquisition technology, has been awarded a significant contract to supply 42,000 autonomous nodes to Smart Seismic Solutions (S3). These nodes will be utilized in a high-density 3D seismic survey for the CarbonCuts Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) Storage Project in Denmark, marking a pivotal advancement in global climate change mitigation efforts.

The CarbonCuts Project is a prominent initiative focused on identifying the best onshore subsurface locations for CO₂ storage. The seismic survey is a critical component of Denmark's strategy to achieve net-zero emissions by 2045. By employing advanced seismic technology, the project aims to map geological formations with exceptional precision, ensuring the safe and effective storage of CO₂ onshore.

Onshore CO₂ storage is gaining traction as a cost-effective and accessible solution for managing emissions, especially compared to offshore alternatives. With geological CO₂ storage now recognized as a proven and safe method to address the climate crisis, this project represents a significant step forward.

S3, a top geophysical service provider, is leading the acquisition of high-density seismic data using STRYDE's innovative nodal system. Patrick Robert, CEO of S3, emphasized the importance of the project, stating, "The CarbonCuts Project is a key element in Denmark's transition to a sustainable future. The Rødby structure, a geological formation from the Mesozoic Era, is an ideal target for this survey. STRYDE's technology ensures superior seismic imaging, allowing us to identify suitable storage sites with greater accuracy, reducing risks and enhancing the reliability of long-term CO₂ storage solutions."

Mike Popham, CEO of STRYDE, highlighted the transformative impact of their technology, noting, "Our system is revolutionizing the industry by making seismic data acquisition more efficient and accessible. This collaboration with S3 underscores our commitment to enabling informed decision-making and driving meaningful climate action. By lowering the barriers to onshore carbon storage initiatives, we are proud to support this vital project."

This partnership between STRYDE and S3 is paving the way for more sustainable energy practices, contributing to a cleaner and greener future.
