NOIA Reacts As Trump Pauses Near-complete Revolution Wind Project

In the wake of U.S. Department of the Interior instructions to shut down all operations at the near-completion stage on the Revolution Wind project on Friday, National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) President Erik Milito issued the following statement:

"Revolution Wind is under construction and nearly complete, years of planning, billions of private investment dollars, and an enormous shot in the arm for America's offshore energy supply chain. Delay or uncertainty now would have a ripple effect on jobs, contracts, and communities already benefiting from the project.".

"These projects are about more than power. They further Administration objectives by reviving American manufacturing, restoring shipbuilding, modernizing ports, and producing the steady electricity needed to fuel data centers and AI innovation.".

"America only has one, fully realized big offshore wind project on line today. That's not even close to what America needs to meet its increasing energy needs. We need more of all of it - oil and gas, wind, and new and emerging technologies. Offshore projects take decades to pay out, so consistent, stable policy is needed to keep that going.".

"All of America's offshore energy industry, from oil and gas to wind, carbon capture and storage, and deep sea mining, is driving more stability for consumers, more jobs nationwide, and a safer future for America."
