CNOOC Achieves Milestone With Long Lake Northwest Project In Canada

CNOOC Limited has announced the commencement of production at its Long Lake Northwest Project in Alberta, Canada. This significant milestone underscores the company's commitment to expanding its presence in the region. Located near Fort McMurray, the Long Lake facility has been operational since 2008, boasting a daily production capacity of 72,000 barrels of bitumen. Employing steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) technology, this project plays a vital role in CNOOC International's global portfolio.

 

The Long Lake Northwest Project is expected to reach peak production of 30,300 barrels of oil equivalent per day, with CNOOC Limited holding full ownership. While the exact start date remains undisclosed, CNOOC International continues investing in the Long Lake area.
