Global industrial services provider Bilfinger has secured a contract to provide inspection services by way of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on bp's North Sea assets. The victory follows Bilfinger's own three-year extension to its initial 2019-awarded UK ISP contract with bp, for painting, access, and insulation.
From the commencement of the initial contract with bp, Bilfinger has also expanded the scope of supply to include tank entry and specialist cleaning. Securing the long-term future of over 250 jobs, in a specialist team of 14 onshore and 241 offshore workers, until 2027.
A set of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and robotics, will be onboarded to make operations more efficient, reduce emissions, and facilitate bp's vision for sustainable operations. The deal will also introduce a full end-to-end digital working process, establishing a new industry benchmark for NDT through smart digitization and AI-readiness integration.

This award is added to recent contract renewals on two further major North Sea contracts, where Bilfinger Engineering & Maintenance UK has been receiving accolades for level of performance and commitment to continuous improvement.
