Baker Hughes has been contracted a 90-month long-term services agreement with bp for its Papua Barat, Indonesia-based Tangguh Liquefied Natural Gas plant. The multimillion-dollar contract entails spare parts, repair and field service engineering support for the large turbomachinery at the plant including heavy-duty gas turbines, steam turbines and three LNG train compressors.

The deal forms part of Baker Hughes' long-standing collaboration with bp in the Tangguh LNG project since 2009 and recently for the 2024 contract for the provision of further critical power and compression systems to bp's Tangguh UCC Project.

Tangguh LNG plant is a vital component of Indonesia's energy policy to supply secure and stable energy to the Asia-Pac market. The assistance forthcoming from Baker Hughes will ensure continued availability and operation of the plant's vital turbomachinery instrumental to LNG operation.

"This agreement for long-term services with bp for Tangguh LNG is an affirmation of our ongoing collaboration and commitment to enhancing energy development in Indonesia," said Baker Hughes' VP of Gas Technology Services Tiffany Pitts. "Our proven field technology and capability will assist in achieving optimal performance of the Tangguh plant, which is essential in satisfying the region's energy needs."

Baker Hughes is collaborating with PT Imeco Inter Sarana in an effort to satisfy the local content requirement of the deal as its Indonesian consortium partner.
