Product Introduction

Our Titanium Transition Reducers (also known as titanium pipe reducers, titanium reducing fittings) are core pipeline components designed to change the pipe diameter in industrial piping systems, while ensuring smooth fluid flow, minimal pressure loss and reliable sealing performance.

We offer two core structural types (concentric & eccentric), three connection forms (butt weld, socket weld, threaded) and two manufacturing processes (seamless & welded), fully covering the needs of low-pressure to ultra-high pressure, general to extreme corrosive working conditions. Widely used in chemical processing, seawater desalination, marine engineering, pharmaceutical & biotechnology, aerospace, power generation, flue gas desulfurization and other industries.

Product Features

1.Dual Structural Design for Full Scenario Adaptation :
Provide concentric and eccentric reducers to meet different pipeline layout requirements. Concentric reducers ensure uniform fluid flow for vertical pipelines and gas media; eccentric reducers prevent liquid accumulation and air lock for horizontal liquid pipelines and pump suction systems, eliminating cavitation risks.
2.Industry-Leading Corrosion Resistance :
Excellent corrosion resistance in seawater, high chloride ion environments, strong oxidizing acids, alkalis, and reducing media. Standard Grade 2 titanium reducers outperform 316L stainless steel in most corrosive conditions; Grade 7 titanium reducers with palladium addition provide exceptional crevice corrosion resistance in extreme reducing acid environments, suitable for the harshest chemical working conditions.
3.Seamless & Welded Dual Process Coverage :
- Seamless reducers: Hot push / cold extrusion formed from seamless titanium tubes, no weld seams, superior pressure bearing capacity (up to 42MPa), suitable for high-temperature, high-pressure, flammable and explosive harsh working conditions.
- Welded reducers: Automatic TIG welded from high-quality titanium plates, uniform wall thickness, support for super large diameter customization, lower cost and shorter delivery time, ideal for medium and low pressure large pipeline projects.
4.Ultra-High Precision Dimensional Control :
Strictly manufactured in accordance with ASME B16.9 dimensional standard, full-process dimensional monitoring, end bevel accuracy, outer diameter tolerance, wall thickness uniformity and coaxiality all meet or exceed international standards. Perfect matching with standard titanium pipes, reducing on-site installation difficulty and welding leakage risks.
5.Stable Performance in Extreme Temperature Environments :
Maintain excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance in an ultra-wide working temperature range from -269℃ (cryogenic environment) to 450℃. No brittleness at ultra-low temperatures, no strength degradation at high temperatures, fully adapting to extreme working conditions of aerospace and cryogenic engineering.
6.Food & Pharmaceutical Grade Sanitary Compliance :
Non-toxic, non-precipitating harmful substances, excellent biocompatibility. Optional electrolytic polishing treatment with surface roughness up to Ra≤0.4μm, smooth inner wall without dead corners, no medium residue, fully compliant with GMP sanitary standards for pharmaceutical, food and biotechnology industries.
7.Full Weldability & Secondary Processability :
The weldability of the base metal and weld seam is excellent, supporting on-site secondary welding, bending, and machining. The end can be customized with beveling, flaring, flange welding and other processing, fully adapting to your on-site installation requirements.

Manufacturing & Quality Control Process

We implement a full-process traceable quality management system, every product undergoes strict inspection from raw material incoming to finished product delivery :

- Raw Material Incoming Inspection : Titanium raw materials comply with ASTM B348 standard, full-spectrum chemical composition analysis, mechanical property testing, ultrasonic flaw detection, 100% traceable from melt batch to finished product.

- Precision Forming : Adopt advanced hot push forming, cold extrusion and stamping process. Hot push forming ensures uniform wall thickness distribution after diameter reduction, no thinning at the small end; cold extrusion for high-precision small-size reducers, excellent dimensional consistency.

- Welding Process (for welded reducers) : Full-automatic TIG inert gas shielded welding, 100% penetration, no oxidation, porosity, crack or inclusion. Weld strength reaches ≥95% of base metal, with real-time welding parameter monitoring and full recording.

- Vacuum Heat Treatment : Full vacuum annealing treatment, eliminate internal stress generated during forming and welding, optimize metallographic structure, restore the corrosion resistance and toughness of titanium material, avoid hydrogen embrittlement and oxidation.

- Surface Treatment : Standard pickling and passivation to remove surface oxide scale, form a dense passive film, maximize corrosion resistance. Optional mechanical polishing, electrolytic polishing for sanitary grade applications.

- 100% Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) : Penetrant Testing (PT) for surface defects, Ultrasonic Testing (UT) for internal defects, Radiographic Testing (RT) for weld seams, to ensure zero defects of products.

- Finished Product Verification : Full dimensional inspection, hydrostatic pressure test (1.5 times working pressure), pneumatic leak test, hardness test, to ensure all parameters meet the standard and customer requirements.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between concentric and eccentric titanium transition reducers? How to choose?

A: The core difference lies in the geometric structure and application scenarios.

- Concentric reducers have the center lines of the large and small ends on the same straight line, which can evenly change the fluid flow rate without turbulence, and will not form liquid accumulation. It is the preferred choice for vertical pipelines, gas, steam and two-phase flow media.

- Eccentric reducers have parallel offset center lines, with one flat side, which can keep the top or bottom of the pipeline at the same level, effectively preventing liquid accumulation or air lock. It is specially designed for horizontal liquid pipelines, pump suction pipelines (to avoid cavitation) and pipelines with limited installation space. We can recommend the most suitable type according to your pipeline layout and medium properties.

Q: What standards do your titanium transition reducers comply with?

A: Our titanium reducers are manufactured in strict accordance with international mainstream standards:

- Material and manufacturing standard: ASTM B363 / ASME SB-363 (the global core standard for titanium and titanium alloy welded and seamless fittings)

- Dimensional standard: ASME B16.9 (butt weld fittings), ASME B16.11 (socket weld and threaded fittings)

- We can also comply with EN ISO 1127, EN 10253, DIN 2605, JIS B2311, JIS H4631, GB/T 12459 and other national standards according to your project requirements.

Q: How to choose between seamless and welded titanium transition reducers?

A: The selection depends on your working conditions, pressure grade and budget:

- Seamless titanium reducers: Formed from seamless titanium tube, no weld seam, higher pressure bearing capacity, better safety and reliability. It is suitable for ultra-high pressure, high temperature, flammable and explosive, strong corrosive and other harsh working conditions, such as chemical processing, aerospace, high-pressure hydraulic systems.

- Welded titanium reducers: Formed from titanium plate stamping and welding, lower production cost, shorter delivery time, support for super large diameter customization. It is suitable for medium and low pressure, large diameter pipeline systems, such as seawater desalination, marine engineering, flue gas desulfurization. Both types are 100% inspected to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
