TechnipFMC awarded a contract by Petrobras for the engineering, design, and construction of subsea production systems for several Brazilian offshore projects under a subsea contract worth between $75 million and $250 million. The contract will include a mix of brownfield expansions, greenfield developments, and asset rejuvenations of the Petrobras asset base.

The agreement includes installation support and life-of-field services with the possibility of installing additional equipment as development campaigns evolve. All the subsea equipment will be built and serviced in Brazil, crediting the two firms' long relationship and focus on local content.

Jonathan Landes, President Subsea at TechnipFMC, said that Petrobras would be able to take advantage of the industrialized operating model of the company by having access to standardized, best-in-class solutions and assured delivery schedules. "This award follows a long-term relationship with Petrobras and solidifies our position as partner of choice in the Brazilian offshore oil and gas market," Landes said.

Petrobras continues to be at the forefront of offshore development as Brazil is the hub of global deepwater oil production. The TechnipFMC subsea purchase is just one aspect of the company's ongoing quest to enhance and expand its offshore production prowess, and that is positioning Brazil to be a player in the global oil production scene.
