Leave a message

ExxonMobil Guyana and SBM Offshore have finalized the purchase of FPSO Prosperity, marking a significant milestone in their partnership. The agreement was completed ahead of schedule, prior to the lease expiration in November 2025. Under the terms, ExxonMobil Guyana assumes ownership of the FPSO, while SBM Offshore will continue to operate and maintain the vessel until 2033. The FPSO Prosperity began operations in November 2023 and is expected to produce approximately 220,000 barrels of oil daily.

This addition boosts Guyana's total production capacity to around 620,000 barrels per day, complementing the Liza Destiny and Liza Unity FPSOs, which already produce over 380,000 barrels daily.

- Purchase price: Approximately $1.23 billion
- Ownership transfer: ExxonMobil Guyana assumes ownership
- Operation and maintenance: SBM Offshore until 2033
- Production capacity: 220,000 barrels of oil per day
- Location: Offshore Guyana, Stabroek Block

This strategic move demonstrates ExxonMobil's commitment to expanding its presence in Guyana, reinforcing its position as a major player in the region's oil and gas industry.
