The Energy Workforce & Technology Council (EWTC) has expressed strong support for President Donald J. Trump's recent declaration of a national energy emergency, describing it as a pivotal move to bolster America's energy security.

This announcement highlights the pressing need to ease restrictive regulations that have hindered growth and investment within the energy sector. By focusing on reforms that streamline permitting processes and eliminate administrative barriers, the U.S. can more effectively tap into its abundant natural resources to meet rising domestic and international energy demands.

EWTC President Tim Tarpley emphasized the significance of the decision, stating, "This declaration is a vital step in securing the nation's energy future. By reducing unnecessary regulatory burdens and advancing permitting reforms, we can maximize America's energy production, create new jobs, and deliver affordable and reliable energy to consumers nationwide."

The organization continues to advocate for swift action on key issues, including expediting federal onshore and offshore lease sales, implementing permanent permitting reforms to accelerate infrastructure development, and lifting the ongoing pause on liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, which could otherwise jeopardize the U.S.'s position as a global energy leader.

"We commend the President's commitment to unlocking the potential of American energy," said Molly Determan, President of EWTC. "The industry is prepared to support these initiatives by leveraging its workforce and innovative technologies to drive economic progress while maintaining top-tier environmental and safety standards."

EWTC reaffirmed its dedication to collaborating with the administration and policymakers to advance strategies that promote U.S. energy production, create high-quality employment opportunities, and strengthen the nation's energy security for the future.
